Newsflow GENM signed MoA with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to develop the American film corporation’s first theme park in Genting Highlands. GENM is expected to spend at least RM3bn over the next five years to revamp its theme park and add 1,300 room capacity (or roughly 13% additional room capacity). The theme park will be closed from 1 September 2013 onwards to facilitate the construction of this new theme park that will include blockbuster films character and rides like Ice Age, Alien, Predator, Rio and Life of Pi. The theme park is expected to cost some RM400m. The theme park, to be developed on a 10.12ha plot, will feature more than 25 rides and attractions, from media-based rides, thrill rides and dark rides to children’s and water riders.
